My Nighttime AI Team That Finishes All My Work Before Dawn

By dawn last Tuesday, the following deliverables were already finalized for my consulting clients: a 2,000-word in-depth briefing breaking down the risks helium supply shortages pose to Asian semiconductor manufacturers. RMA’s core role is coordinating a network of other specialized AI agents that all work in parallel while I sleep. One agent acts as a dedicated editor, another serves as a researcher and analyst, a third approaches every project through the lens of an investor, and a fourth focuses exclusively on cleaning and processing raw data. On busier evenings, up to 10 general-purpose coding agents will join the crew to pitch in. Together, they work through every task I add to their queue before I go to bed each night, and RMA maps out the most efficient workflow to deploy the team to get every job done—from automated security sweeps to software updates to all the tedious technical housekeeping no human wants to spend time on.

The customer segmentation analysis the team turned out last week was strong, though not quite perfect. I spent just 10 minutes making small tweaks before sharing it with my managing director. If RMA hadn’t completed the bulk of the work overnight, I have no idea when we would have found time to tackle it. Hiring an outside agency to do the same work would have cost thousands of dollars and dragged on for far too long.
